About Us
Lasting Perception is a studio making unusual, custom wood, glass, and agate products for the home and artist-crafted jewelry. We value quality craftsmanship, integrity, honesty, creativity, and laughter and have encouraged other artisans from northeastern Minnesota to join us and share their crafts. You will find them and their stories here. We are based in northeastern Minnesota - the land of the Mesabi Iron Range and the beautiful lakes, streams, and forests of the Boundary Waters and the north shore of Lake Superior. We make unique, one-of-a-kind items for houses and wearable art and games for the people in them. Check out the products on our stores, and Contact us if you would like to place a custom order – whether a product for your home, yourself, a wedding, holiday gift, or other event. A portion of each purchase contributes to the Mesabi Humane Society and their animal rescue mission.

Northwoods Art
At Northwoods Art, Jack Treher designed and made small mirrors and clocks, and items for home decor incorporating translucent agate and art glass pieces into various types of wood for those who value one-of-a-kind products for their homes. Although he died in 2017 a few of his mirrors are still available.
Jim Blaha is an accomplished metal and wood artist, although for the last 25 years he has worked only in wood. He is known for his attention to detail in the custom cabinetry and furniture he creates. No matter how complex a wood project, Jim can figure it out. He works with domestic woods. A few of his furniture pieces are available here.
Karen Spotts, whose reputation and skills in wood-burning are well-known in northern Minnesota, creates beautiful wood-burned artwork done by hand. You will find many items - each with her beautiful art work drawn from nature.
Wearable Art
Wearable Art provides distinctive jewelry incorporating glass beads, metals, stones, crystals, and other items created by talented artists living in northeastern Minnesota. You will find delicate seed-bead jewelry earrings, necklaces, and pendants. We add new types of products on a regular basis, so visit us often.

Family Games and Puzzles
The year 2023 brings a new addition to our website: communication card game and jigsaw puzzles. The puzzle was designed to support The Mesabi Humane Society and other animal shelters. Timothy Carr is a cartoonist and graphic illustrator who has been part of our game design team at The Learning Key since 2006. He illustrated the cartoons on our 500-piece puzzle, Furever Friends. He is also responsible for our other product graphics.
